Students killed in Afghan blast

At least 12 students have been killed by an explosion outside a school to the south of Kabul, the Afghan capital, officials said.

The blast happened on Thursday as a convoy of police were patrolling the district of Mohammad Agha in Logar province.
The district chief said the explosion was caused by explosive materials inside the vehicle.
The age of the students was not immediately known.
