Kashmir urges UN to sent observers

The Kashmiri delegation called on the United Nations and human rights associations to put pressure on India to stop cruelties on innocent people of Kashmir.

In Geneva, in the 9th session of UN Human Rights Council, a Kashmiri delegation has urged the United Nations to send a special representative to monitor massive human rights violations being perpetrated by Indian troops in occupied Kashmir.

The Kashmiri delegation called on the United Nations and human rights associations to put pressure on India to stop cruelties on innocent people of Kashmir and play their due role in resolving the long-standing Kashmir dispute, reported Kashmir Media Service.

They said that Indian troopers barged into houses, harass inmates and loot the households, which is sheer violation of human rights. They hoped that the UN Human Rights Council would take notice of it and would help resolve the dispute.

They also demanded from the Human Rights Council to help reveal the whereabouts of the people disappeared in troops custody in the occupied territory.
