Assalamu Alaikum,Are the Hadeeths that mention that cold food has more Barakah than hot food and that hot food has no Barakah authentic ?Jazakallah Khair
All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad (ﷺ) is His Slave and Messenger.
A number of hadiths have been narrated through numerous chains that support the matter mentioned in the question. Some of these narrations are authentic, while others are weak, and the weak reports are strengthened by the authentic ones.
Among the authentic narrations is what Ahmad ibn Hanbal reported in Al-Musnad, and Al-Hakim al-Naysaburi
reported in Al-Mustadrak, and others as well, on the authority of Asmaa bint Abi Bakr
that whenever she prepared tharīd, she would cover it until its heat subsided, and she would say that she heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: “This increases blessing.”
After narrating the hadith, Al-Hakim
said: “This hadith is authentic according to the standard of Muslim ibn al-Hajjaj in the context of shawāhid (narrations used to support other narrations on the same subject), although al-Bukhari and Muslim did not report it.” [End quote.]
Likewise, some contemporary scholars also deemed the hadith authentic, such as Muhammad Nasiruddin al-Albani, while Shu'ayb al-Arna'ut
considered it hasan (acceptable).
Allah Knows best.
